Will a full-size truck fit on my Old Town street?
Sometimes, and sometimes not. Old Town Lafayette’s original grid has narrow streets, small lots and houses set close to the sidewalk, and a badly placed 26-foot truck blocks traffic for the whole block. We look at your street during the estimate. Where the truck will not sit safely, we shuttle from a larger vehicle parked nearby, which adds a little time and avoids a much bigger problem. Do you move between Lafayette and Boulder often?
Constantly. Lafayette-to-Boulder, Lafayette-to-Louisville and Lafayette-to-Erie are among the most common moves we do up here, and they are single-day, single-truck jobs. The variable is the Boulder end, where some neighborhoods have tighter parking conditions than Lafayette does. We confirm the unload approach when we book.
My house backs onto open space. Does that change anything?
It changes the wind and the carry, not much else. Several Lafayette neighborhoods — Spring Creek, White Hawk Ranch, parts of Indian Peaks — back onto open space, which means exposed lots and long driveways. On a windy day we keep the truck’s side door shut between carries and take extra care with mattresses and anything with a big flat face. We add crew for the long carry rather than stretching the day.
Can you move us into Blue Heron or another gated neighborhood?
Yes. We need a gate code or an entry on the guest list for the truck and the crew, and any community rules on hours or truck parking. Most Boulder County HOAs will provide that in a day or two if you ask; if you would rather not chase it, give us the management contact and we will.
What do you do with a house full of boxes if the closing slips a day?
Tell us as soon as you know. We can often shift the date, and where a load is already on the truck we can keep it on the truck overnight, for a fee, rather than unloading into a house you do not yet own. Closings slip in Boulder County like everywhere else, and it is much easier to solve two days out than on the morning of.
Do you move outbuildings, workshops and garage contents?
Yes, and in Lafayette it comes up a lot — older properties here often have a detached garage, a shed or a shop with tools, a compressor, a workbench and a lot of loose hardware. We pack tools carefully, and we will tell you in advance if anything on that list is something we cannot legally transport, such as fuel or propane.

How long can furniture sit outside when you hire a moving company in Lafayette?
Up to seven days. Lafayette’s nuisance code does not count furniture and household goods from a move as junk for the first seven days. Left outside longer, they can be treated as junk.
