Castle Pines Movers: Local Moving for the City and The Village at Castle Pines

City of Castle Pines, Colorado sign (established 2008) beside pine trees

Castle Pines is two different places, and the difference matters on moving day. The City of Castle Pines, in Douglas County, incorporated in 2008 and has about 16,000 residents. Its neighborhoods sit off Castle Pines Parkway, Monarch Boulevard and Lagae Road, and east of I-25 in The Canyons, which the City annexed in 2009. Some areas, such as Amber Ridge, Castle Pointe, The Crossings and Whisper Canyon, have private streets that the HOA, not the City, takes care of.

The Village at Castle Pines is next door but outside city limits, in unincorporated Douglas County. It is gated, with five staffed entry gates and nearly 2,000 homes. Mail there goes to Castle Rock addresses, and the Castle Pines Metro District maintains the roads. The Village’s Emergency Services must approve every moving truck in advance and escort it in and out. Trucks may enter only from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and the Village warns that many of its streets can’t fit a large truck in front of the house.

Our office at 2115 W 14th Ave in Denver is about 22 miles from Castle Pines City Hall by road, mostly on I-25. Fischer Van Lines is a veteran-owned, licensed and insured Castle Pines moving company, in business since 2004. We bill local moves by the hour under Fair Clock Pricing unless you have a contract price, with no stair, long-carry, disassembly or elevator fees. Estimates are free, and our quote form takes a walkthrough video.

…moved the contents of my daughters one bedroom, second-floor apartment into a locally-rented storage unit on a very hot summer afternoon. Although the apartment complex did not have an elevator and the temperature approached 100 degrees, they completed their work in only two and a half hours…

Meet Our Founder

“Castle Pines is really two places for a mover: the City of Castle Pines and the gated Village at Castle Pines. Both are about 22 miles south of our Denver office, and each does things its own way.

Inside the Village, a moving van needs a Moving Authorization Form before move day, vans are allowed 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and some streets won’t fit a big truck in front of the house. In the City, a storage pod may need a permit, so check before it’s delivered. We sort out those details with you at the estimate.

I started moving furniture at 18, and I’m a United States Navy veteran. Our Castle Pines movers will tell you exactly which truck we’re sending, help you get the paperwork right and finish the job the way we promised.”

Frequently asked questions about moving in Castle Pines

The Village at Castle Pines is gated. What do you need from us?

Your signed Moving Authorization Form, filed with the Village’s Emergency Services before moving day. The Village requires approval in advance for every moving truck, and its officers escort each truck in and out. The form asks for your move dates, the moving company, the truck’s length including cab and trailer, whether it loads from the side or the rear, the ramp length and the gate the truck will use. Moving trucks may not use Gate 1. Our trucks are 20, 26, 36 and 42 feet long. Call us at (720) 297-9904, and we’ll tell you which truck is coming, how it loads and its ramp length before you file the form. Our office is open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. every day.

Only from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Saturday. The Village at Castle Pines allows no moving trucks on Sundays or holidays; its access page lists New Year’s Day, Easter, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Overnight parking on Village streets is not allowed, so the truck has to be loaded or unloaded and gone inside that window. Tell us your Village address when you book. Our local moves are billed by the hour under Fair Clock Pricing, so a start time that fits the window matters.

Not always. The Village’s Moving Authorization Form says many of its streets won’t fit a moving van or large truck in front of the house, and some moves may need shuttle trucks. Usually our larger trucks make it. If one can’t, we send a smaller truck, which runs at a lower rate; a second truck adds a gas fee, and your quote spells it out. Its rules also limit parking that blocks traffic, emergency vehicles or snowplows. A truck can’t block a fire hydrant (state law requires 15 feet), a mailbox or a neighbor’s driveway. Show us your street, driveway and front walk in a walkthrough video on our quote form. Estimates are free, and the quote spells out every charge. For Denver and 25 nearby cities, see our moving truck and container rules guide.

If you live in The Village at Castle Pines, your mail says Castle Rock, but the Village is in unincorporated Douglas County, not in Castle Rock or the City of Castle Pines. The Castle Pines Metro District maintains its roads. The City of Castle Pines is a separate city, incorporated in 2008, with about 16,000 residents. So a Village move follows Village and county rules, and a City move follows City rules plus your HOA’s. Either way, a local move is billed by the hour under Fair Clock Pricing unless you have a contract price.

It can. The City of Castle Pines plows public streets, and HOAs take care of private ones. The City lists areas it does not maintain, including Amber Ridge, Broadwick, Buffalo Ridge, Canterbury Park, Castle Pointe, Coyote Crossing, The Crossings, Daniel’s Ridge, Esperanza, Forest Park, Hamlet, Lifestyle, Turquoise Terrace, Ventanna and Whisper Canyon. On a private street, ask your HOA, not the City, where the truck may park and for how long. If the HOA wants a certificate of insurance, we provide one on request.

Arterials. The City clears Priority 1 streets first, such as Castle Pines Parkway, Monarch Boulevard, Lagae Road, Mira Vista Lane and Buffalo Trail. Collectors like Daniels Gate Road, Hidden Point Boulevard and Yorkshire Drive come next. Cul-de-sacs and other local streets get plowed once those are passable. The City asks people not to park on City streets during a snow or ice storm, and sidewalks must be cleared within 24 hours after the snow stops. If a storm is coming on your moving date, call us at (720) 297-9904. Our office is open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. every day.

Yes, from the Village Square Commercial District to offices anywhere else in Castle Pines. On office moves, our crews disconnect your computers and reconnect them at the new desks. Before the move, we offer a free on-site walkthrough, a good time to look at parking, entrances and your building’s rules. Local office moves are billed by the hour under Fair Clock Pricing, unless we agree on a contract price. See our commercial moving page or call (720) 297-9904.

Check with the City before you order one. The City of Castle Pines lists a Dumpster/Storage Pod Permit among the permits you apply for online, through its SmartGov portal. In The Village, the covenants prohibit roadside parking and overnight street parking is not allowed, so ask the Homes Association before you plan anything at the curb. If your closing dates leave a gap, we offer climate-controlled short-term storage, from a few days to a few weeks.
