Can a full-size moving truck get up our steep Evergreen driveway?
Sometimes, and we’d rather find out before moving day than on it. Jefferson County’s own snow plan treats roads with steep inclines and curves as problem roads that get their own round of plowing and traction material. A private driveway can be steeper and tighter than any of them. Film the drive from the road, the turnaround and the path to your door, and send it with our free quote form. Usually our larger trucks make it. If one can’t, we send a smaller truck, which runs at a lower rate; a second truck adds a gas fee, and your quote spells it out. Otherwise the crew parks lower and carries from there. We don’t charge long-carry fees.
Our road is private. What should we sort out before moving day?
Who clears it, and what the rules are. Jefferson County doesn’t plow private roads, so after a storm your road association or HOA decides when the snow comes off. Ask them about plowing, truck parking and any set moving hours. Not sure who owns your road? The County’s Maintained Roads Search shows the roads it maintains. If your HOA wants a certificate of insurance before a moving truck comes in, we provide one on request. Give us the HOA contact when you book.
Can snow or chain-law days delay a move to Evergreen?
Rarely. Our trucks carry chains in season, and we get out there and get it done. Still, it helps to know the road rules. The usual route from our office is I-70 and Evergreen Parkway (CO-74), and CDOT maintains both. In a storm, CDOT can put the Traction Law or Chain Law into effect on any state highway. The passenger-vehicle chain law is its last step before a road closes. From September 1 through May 31, state law also requires commercial trucks rated 16,001 pounds or more to carry chains, or an approved alternative, on I-70 west of Morrison. If the forecast looks rough, call us at (720) 297-9904. The office is open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. every day.
Is there an extra charge for a long walk or outdoor stairs to our door?
No. We don’t charge stair, long-carry, disassembly or elevator fees. Moves are billed by the hour under Fair Clock Pricing unless we agree on a contract price, so a clear, safe path still saves time. In winter, that path starts at the end of the driveway. Jefferson County says the snow its plows leave across a driveway approach is the owner’s to clear. On moving morning, clear that ridge, the walk and any outdoor stairs, and put traction down on icy steps.
We're moving during wildfire season. What should we plan for?
Three things. First, sign up for LookoutAlert, Jefferson County’s free emergency alerts, and add the address you’re moving to. You can register any address. Second, learn the Sheriff’s Hi-Lo siren. If you hear it, an evacuation order has been issued, so leave right away. Third, think about where the truck will stand. Colorado Parks and Wildlife warns against parking or idling vehicles on tall, dry grass, where hot exhaust can start a fire. Show us the parking area in your walkthrough video, and we’ll plan the truck’s spot.
How do you price a move to or from Evergreen?

Can you move us between Evergreen and Conifer?
Yes. That trip usually runs on Highway 73, which is a Jefferson County road, not a state highway; the County calls it JC-73. In spring 2026 the County finished rebuilding the stretch from CO-74 to Buffalo Park Road and added a paved shoulder on the east side.
